Hydra Android banking Trojan targets Commerzbank customers
The Hydra banking Trojan targets users of the European e-banking platform again. As part of the new distribution campaign, the malicious software completely copies the official application of the German bank Commerzbank Security.
Hydra continues to evolve and uses various encryption methods to avoid detection. During installation, the malware requests permissions to perform malicious actions, such as accessing SMS content, sending SMS, making calls, changing device settings, spying on user actions, and sending bulk SMS messages to the victim’s contacts.
African Bank customer data leak
In April 2021, there was a cyberattack on Debt-IN, one of the debt collection service providers of the African Bank, the consequences of which became known only now.
Debt-IN found that the personal data of some clients, including a number of clients of African Bank loans subject to debt verification, had been compromised.
Debt-IN and African Bank have already warned their clients and are working to mitigate the impact.
